Sentosa Island

Today, we set off for Sentosa Island again. Harry was keen to go to Adventure Cove Water Park, and we thought we'd do a bit of exploring as well.

We changed up the method of getting across to the island. This time we rode the gondola instead of the monorail. We were a bit hesitant because there were storms about and we could see lightning a bit close for comfort but still went through with it and made it to the island unscathed.

The gondola station is at the top of the hill, so we had to walk down to the boardwalk that starts at Universal Studios & the Aquarium.

We were turned away from the water park initially because the rides were temporarily closed due to the lightning. It wasn't too long before Harry & I were off to explore the waterslides. Kerri opted out and explored the island instead.

I sugar coat it. Adventure Cove isn't the best water park I've ever been to. It probably doesn't even measure up to The Maze in the Perth's north. Having said that, it was a good place to get some reprieve from the heat an humidity for a few hours. The highlight was the lazy river that seemed to go on forever through various waterfalls, obstacles, caves, a wave surge, and even though an tunnel under a large pool containing fish and rays.

Meanwhile, Kerri explored the island on foot and by utilising the gondola that traverses the island.

Kerri did a perfume making session at Scentopia....

She rode the gondola to the far end of the Island and Siloso beach. Unfortunately, the beaches are closed due to an oil spill from a bulk carrier a few weeks ago. The clean up is nearly complete.

Once Harry & I were done on the water slide, we too rode the cross island gondola.

For us, it was a sight seeing venture. The island is covered in dense vegetation.

The pritine sandy beach of Siloso beach (above) seems out of context with the array of bulk carriers moored offshore.

Having explored Sentosa to our liking, we set off back the mainland and our hotel pool for an afternoon cool off.
