Clarke Quay

Dinner this evening was at Clarke Quay, which is a 5 min walk from where we are staying. It's part of the original port area of Singapore. It is very colourful at night as for a lot of the sights of Singapore.

Clarke Quay these days is a busy restaurant precinct with a wide array of different food options. We chose a Thai place that had excellent curries and a resident cat.

All the buildings are painted in vibrant colours.

Marina Bay Sands

In continuing along the Hop on Hop Off Bus route, it landed us at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel, the shops under it and the Artscience Museum (lotus shaped building), but not before passing the Singapore Flyer (below).

Our tolerance for the heat and humidity had gotten the better of us so we headed below ground and into the air conditioning of the fancy Marina Bay Sands Shoppes.

After we had cooled off a bit, we ventured above ground & outside to have a look at the lotus shaped Artscience museum.

The Big Bus bought us back close to our hotel, but not before it had passed a few more tourist sights such as the Old Hill Street Police Station (above) and St Andrew's Cathedral (below).
