Today didn’t go as planned. Even though we arrived at the airport more than three hours early for our flight to Montana, we still missed it. After checking in our luggage, we found ourselves stuck in a massive security queue that snaked all the way into the multi-level parking garage. We were stuck in line for over two hours, with no clear option to fast-track—even when our flight was being called. As it turns out, the overwhelming crowd was due to at least two cruise ships disembarking the day before, with what felt like all their passengers trying to fly out at the same time this morning.
Our bags made it to Bozeman Airport right on time, but unfortunately, we didn’t. With our luggage already en route, we were left without the basics: no toiletries, no pajamas, and definitely no change of clothes. Not exactly the way we imagined starting this leg of the trip.
So, we're spending today and the night at an airport hotel, and the entire day turned out to be a bust. Our new departure is scheduled for 9 a.m. tomorrow. While we’re now losing half a day in Yellowstone, thankfully we built in a little buffer. Definitely ending the day feeling drained and disappointed.
